Anime Movie Review : One Piece : Strong World

Hey, guys. How are you guys doing today? So, just like I said from the last post, I'm gonna make reviews on some One Piece Movies that I have watched. I should've started with this one, though. Because this movie right here hits close to home for me. It's because of this movie, I liked and started watching One Piece! Lemme tell you guys how I first heard of this anime for a bit before I start the review. A good friend of mine when I was in secondary school, recommended me this anime. I asked him what was the anime about? And he said it's about pirates and along the lines in the conversation, he told me main character's power. Rubber.

Now, let's be honest. If you heard anywhere else about someone has rubber powers you would probably think, "Man , that's lame. The main character's probably weak!". That was what I what I was thinking and that is who I am. I'm the kind to judge the anime, hate it, try watching it and finally LOVE it! At the end of the day, it depends on the story and the characters for me. If they are interesting, I will watch it or read it. Now, lemme talk about this movie real quick before I start my review.

One Piece: Strong World is the tenth movie for the anime. It's about when the crew was having a nice day, a pirate with swords for legs (no joke) and the wheel thingy that you use to steer ships (Haha, you bet your money he is lazy to google whatever that is!) on his head floated down onto their ship. Now, my memory is kind of fuzzy as to why he looking for trouble with Luffy and his friends but they ended up floating up high in the sky to a few floating islands. Then, they got separated and Nami had to follow that bad guy whose name is Gold Lion Shiki. A pirate that once fought the Pirate King himself, Gol D. Roger and lost. The 'strong world' is the islands that were floating up in the sky by Shiki's power. If I'm not mistaken he ate the Float-Float Devil Fruit. And the animals living on the islands are crazy strong because they were experimented by a scientist working under Shiki. Okay, I just remembered about something Shiki having beef with the Straw Hats because some of them are from the East Blue. And I think Roger is from the East Blue also. He's gonna release the animals and wreck havoc at East Blue. Once again, if I'm not mistaken XD The crew tries to stop Shiki and save their navigator who sacrificed herself to Shiki in exchange for her crew and her home.

Okay, the review! There are a lot of things that I like the anime. The opening of the movie, showing the crew and their bounties. And I like it that they did an opening like this in the Film Gold movie. The animation was pretty good, the crews clothes were very cool and stylish especially when they wear suits when they barged into Shiki's meeting with other pirate captains. I liked both the opening and ending songs, I don't know the name of the opening but the ending is called 'Fanfare', if I'm not mistaken.

If you are, this won't be the last one!

The scene that was hilarious to me, was when Sanji and Usopp running away from a giant tiger while he loudly shouts for Nami and Robin's names. And again, Oda trolls the poor cook when he jumps to catch Robin but Brook beat him to it. The fight scenes in this movie were quite epic. My personal favorite was when Zoro fight against the weird clown doctor who when he steps, his shoes make a farting noise XD That part when Zoro shows that technique he used to defeat Kaku.

Even though the fight was short but it was pretty badass which is very common when it comes to Roronoa Zoro.  Oh yeah, let's not forget the scene that I would call, 'the walk'. It's near the end before all the fight started, when they came to confront Shiki and get Nami back. And the soundtrack that played in the background makes the scene more epic and giving me goosebumps. They all look like a mafia family in those clothes, damn! XD To me personally, this is my favorite One Piece so far. Call me biased or whatever ( I don't know if that is the correct word to use) but I would rate this movie, 10/10!

Sighs...smh...

And that is the end of this movie review! I hope you guys enjoy and for those who haven't watched the movie, give it a shot and who knows, maybe this movie will make you open up to One Piece. Damn, if I could watch this movie again I would. I would even by the damn DVD! I saw the darn thing at the store but...the store is no longer there! T^T Oh, well...maybe one day I'll find it and buy it. I don't know if the full movie is on YouTube. Anyway, thank you guys so much for stopping by! I'll see you guys next time, peace!
