Anime Review : Gangsta
Hey, everyone! I just remembered last night that I haven't made a review about this anime. There is another anime that I had watched but haven't made a review on and I will post it as soon as possible! I might do a movie review it's a One Piece movie before the Gold Movie. Anyways, let's dive into this one.
Gangsta is one of the best animes (to me) that I watched. One of the reasons is because it's the first time I saw a character with disabilities. Which in the this anime, the character named Nicolas has a disability, deaf. And his partner, Worick (sorry, if I spelled the name wrong) comunicates with him using sign language. To me it was cool and besides being deaf, Nicolas is such a badass. Just because of that, I'm hooked. The studio that made this anime, also made Hayate: The Combat Butler. And the studio has been shut down because of bankruptcy, if I'm not mistaken. Which made the fans disappointed, me included, because we want to see more.
By the way, before you watch this there is a bit of gore, prostitution and drugs and such, that kind of anime, kind of rough like Black Lagoon so, be warned. In this anime, there are superhuman people that are called Twilights. They all wear dog tags that showed has their names and rank. With 'S' as the most high rank. Nicolas and Worick are handymen, kind of like jack of all trades but on the shady side of business. Like doibg dirty jobs for cops, help a Mafia Family and such.
The two had a history with the police detective, Chad, as they haf got into trouble before. And he would hire them to do some dirty work. I think that is all I'm going to tell you guys about the anime, I don't want to give away a lot and accidentally spoiled it for you but I think most of you already watched it. But to those that haven't watched, I recommend it, it's good.
Okay, the review. The characters and the story so far to me is good. And since they won't continue the anime, check it out the manga. Though there were no new chapters from the last time I check which was a vouple years ago. The opening is great, I really liked it. The animation was great, the fight scenes and comedic scenes were good. The background of the main characters, Nicolas and Worick were pretty interesting and sad, like most characters in some animes.
Overall, I think I would give this anime a 9/10. I would give it a 10/10 but since they stopped continuing the anime and there were no new chapters, it gets a point off. And another reason is because I'm a sucker when it comes to anime characters that have something different than others like again Nicolas is deaf and by the way, Worick can read really fast and remember everything like he could finish the whole book in a minute or maybe seconds. I'm sure a few people can do that in real life, right? I forget what this ability is called. But at the end of the day, you will be the judge.
